A State Float
by Tessa Buys | 1 years ago
Tessa Buys here with a layout featuring the new Stateside collection! Do your kids do any kind of state report in elementary school? The final project for my children's school is a state "float". They decorate a shoe box with the symbols of their state and then display them in the classroom during Open House. This past year, my son did his report on the state of Nevada:
He learned how to use my Silhouette Cameo machine to create the Las Vegas sign and the Nevada title (using DCWV cardstock, of course!). He also learned how to mix paint with different mediums to make his Hoover Dam water shiny and wet-looking, and he had fun with the hot glue gun. I made sure to snap some photos the morning he took it to school.
The Stateside collection was perfect for documenting this elementary school milestone. The black and white states background, as well as the light blue map paper, is from the Stateside Stack.
To mat the photos, I used postcards from the Stateside Postcard Stack (airmail stripe and yellow embossed). The acetate layer (on top of the yellow and under the photo) comes from the Stateside Sentiment Stack.
Thanks for stopping by!
